Madame Gabrille Rojauc. the famous actress, is dead; aged (it!. Mrs Marstleu, of Christchurch, is visiting Manakau —staying with her daughter, Mrs Les. Staples. Lord Jellicoo will sail for Mow Zealand by the Curimhic. The Coriuthic is expected to leave .’Southampton on August d. Mr and Mrs Howard Andrew and family and Miss liobinsuu have now left Manakau and taken up residence in Queen Street West, Levin. The d eath occurred at Wellington iiospital on Monday of .Nellie, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs T. A. .uylus, well known in Otaki anti district. The Buxton Horticultural Society has decided to entertain -Ur H. C. l’uttcrsun (secretary of the Society for many years) and Mrs Patterson at a social gathering, to mark the members’ appreciation of their services. Mr il. Hanieil has succeeded -Mr Patterson as secretary of the Society, The Kev. W. 11. Walton, vicar of the parochial district of Pahautauui. has been appointed vicar of All bauds’ parochial district. He is now progressing satisfactorily.—‘ ‘ Chronicle. ’' The wedding of Mr Albert Lind, ut Kongotea, and Mis.s Janet McPaiiaee. of Levin, took place tit Levin on W’ed uesday. .The bride was dressed in white crepe-de-chene, while the bridesmaids were Misses Agnes and May McParlane, their cerise dresses being hand-embroidered. Mr and Mrs W. Bimpson, ot Woodvillu, are visiting Manakau —the guesttof Mr and Mrs J. Kollo. Unfortunately bulk Mr and Mrs Simjisou have been indisposed since their arrival here. Mrs tSn up sort suffering with an obi eomplaint, and Mr Simpson being laid aside with pneumonia. Their many triends in this district will wish then both a speedy recovery. The death occurred at Ohau la-’ night of Mr Henry Koval, blether JMr Bkippur Koyal and the late Mr Grace Koyal. Deceased was a very well known and highly-respected Native, and a member oi one or the most esteemed Native families on the Coast. He had attained middle age. Mrs Walter W'hiley is a daughter of deceased.
