The death occurred at Christchurch recently of Mrs August Eelicvre, mother of Mrs (Dr.) Bower; wellknown in this district. Mr Gilbert Noble, who has been prominent in liockey circles in Levin, leaves this week to take up residence in Wellington. As a hockey enthusiast, especially, he will be much missed. Mr A. J. H.-lshcrwood. for some lime “mine host” of the Railway Hole! at Otaki, is negotiating l’or possession of the Grand Hotel at Levin, and hopes to take over this well-known hostelry in the course of a few days. The, Misses Andrew (2), sisters of Mr Howard Andrew, Manakau, arrived at , Wellington from the Old Country recently, and intend settling down in New Zealand, residing, in all probability. in Wellington.
