The story deals with a young Chinese American, a college graduate, whose lather is a Chinese merchant in IS a n Irancisco’s Chinatown, and his mother a white Woman. He is ignorant of her existence, and she is her husband’s prisoner in an underground den, and bop«Icssly demented. He falls in love with a young woman, and when she breaks I he engagement lie imprisons her iu the same den as liis own mother.
