I’mctiealiy every local body in the district has passed re-olutious against the Government Using the Josiali Howard bequest to found an agricultural college at Levin in-tead ot within Hawke’s Bay. the testator having been a resident of Tikokico. The Napier Thirty Tbou-nud Club has now received a tetter from the Bight Hod. W. F. Ma-s.ey stating that the income derivable from the ‘-state will gut be sufficient to rnee-t the esuses of carrying on a first-elass institution. and that hr: would bo quite prepared to give young fellow-: from Hawke A Bay first wlaim on the accommodation and instruction provided at the instiation. This concession i- regarded in quarter- as an indication that Hawke Bnv ha- a claim for the agricultural college to be erected in the district.
