COAL SHORTAGE.
■ LOCAL SUPPLY FOE NEEDY CASES. Having regard to the nculc shortage of coal and the difficulty some times experienced in obtaining supplies, for necessitous cases, the Wellington Coal , Trade Committee desires it lo be known that arrangements have been made wlicrebv all urgent demands can be reasonably and promptly met. It is requested that those in need should first of all apply to ihffir usual dealer, instructions having already been issued to merchants that cases of sickness must lake precedence. If it is found that the dealer cannot supply promptly, application should be made to the Chairman of the Town Board (Mr -L T. Brandon), who. if circumstances warrant, will give a signed order which will enable the applicant to draw a reasonable supply from a reserve stock of coal created for this purpose. 8o that the arrangements made to allow! relief may not be abused, it may be necessary lo request, confirmatory medical ad-,-;,.,, from the applicant, and it is therefore trusted that only those in urgent need will apply.
