Knokn. rfhe use of bad language on the lootball Held has become somewhat common of late, and the authorities controlling the Rugby game have recognised that stern sentences should be imposed ill order to suppress the practice. At lust night’s meeting of the Management Committee of the Now Zealand Rugby Union an application was received from the Horouhenun Union for the reinstatement o f a player j •who bad been ordered off all grounds for persistent use of bad language. It -vas pointed out that the man had _ undergone suspension for eight years, therefore it was considered that he bad been punished sufficiently, and the reinstateniciit was approved. “I ' VJSI they would impose some such sentences i„ Wellington,” remarked Mr T. It Jones, “for something of the kind is necessary.”
