WAIKANAE (0) V. KOrUTAEOA (0) The match between the Koputaroa and Waiknuae Juniors, played on Saturday at Otaki, was spoiled by the wet weather, but, nevertheless, patches of good play were witnessed. Waikttuae, who won by three unconverted tries to nil. were a better all-round team than their opponents. In scrum work and on the line-out play was even, but the back play of Koputaroa was much below that of Waikanae. Tho forward rushes of the Waikanae team were also superior. AVells, Taylor, and field were the pick of the southern forwards, while Buchanan aud Udy were the best of the hacks. Napier played all the back game for Kopuluora, while Johnston was the best of the forwards. Mr Best Kilniister was r«force. It w;is regrettable that tho northernler-. when they saw they were beaten, resorted to unclean tactics, while their language was even worse, being strong enough to kill spurt in any part of the district. They were also inclined to ! dispute the referee's rulings, aud for the sake oi the game it is u pit3' one or two were not made an example of. FOXTON (5) V. OTAKI (0).
