'flic Otaki Town Board Uas given Messrs I’ord and Shand an order for the erection of a Wizard street lamp in Otaki, as an experiment. The lamp is now being lilted up and will be given a good trial. If it is satisfactory the Board will in all probability have a number of these lights installed in the town. The light is living installed at the corner opposite the Bank of Australasia.

The date of the Manakau masked fancy dress dance has been altered to Thursday, 27th inst., as advertised. If is hoped that all who possibly can will appear iu fancy costume, and in order to encourage people to do so the ticket charges have been fixed so that those who do not wear fancy dress will have to pay Is extra.
