OTAKI PATRIOTIC SOCIETY

NOW CLOSED DOWN. There was only a very small attendance at the special general meeting of the .Otaki Patriotic Society, held yesterday afternoon (Mr W. B. Smith in the chair) for the purpose of considering the closing down of the -Society. After a brief discussion, it was resolved, on the motion of Mr Penn, a c-onded by Mr St. George, that, the Society cease operations. It was resolved that, after meeting a few outstanding liabilities, the funds in hand bo donated to the Horowlicmia bounty Patriotic Association. The treasurer (Mr L. St. George) reported that there was a credit bank balance of £!<> 3s 3d. while there was a sum of £25 J Is 2d to the Society ’s ci".lit iii the savings bank. The only liabilities could only amount to a pound or Iwo at most.
