HOROWHENUA COUNTY PATRIOTIC ASSOCIATION.

A gift of £4 v.a„- received.from Mr Ji W. Drcwitt. of Paraparaumu, (■•rough Messrs Dalgcty and Co., the donation being the proceed" of a sale. The gift was received with thanks. A grant of si! per week for thirteen weeks for an Otaki soldier v.a«i, re- : i wed. The ijuestion of precedent was, raised •/ ben an application was received aski: -z for a gran*. The ease was, that of s soldier who was ordered to hospital to undergo special treatment. He therefore as.ked the Association to make up the difference between his ordinary earnings and the pension received during that period. Mr 15. R. Gardener "-aid this opened a big question, and if granted would form a precedent for future cose*. WalkJey supported this view, and said it was a case that should appeal to the Association. Mr 'f. G.
