CORRESPONDENCE.
STATE SCHOOL PICNIC. (To the Editor.) Sir, —I noticed in a recent issue where a correspondent, "Uncle Bill," took tlio local School Committee to task for suggesting a picture entertainment instead of the annual pienic, uud I tun in uncord with his remarks. Picture shows are all right in their way. luit lot us study the children's health. We don't want to ruin their eyesight—we want lo build up their constitution, and ii day at Puckakal iki would he heartily welcomed liy parents and children. Let a vote of the children betaken at school, and it will in; seen which they prefer. While on the subject of school committees it might be interesting to know the attendances of committeemen at meetings throughout the year, and I would aI»o like to suggest to all parents to be present at the annual meeting in April when a committee that would look after the interests of their children will be elected. Parents at present are very dilatory, and it would be good if they would display more interest in school matters in general. I'or e: ample, there is the nothing despite the fact that wc are asked to pay our money for treatment while kiddies still have rotten teeth.— Yours, tiNCEE JO!::.
