MANAWATTJ SUB-PROVINCIAL MEETING. The monthly meeting of (lrc executive of the Manawatu Sub-provincial Karmers' Union was held on Saturday morning, says the "Standard." Mr H. Vile was in the chair. Gloyn (Rongotea), Campbell (Kauwhata), Alsop (Kangiotu), O. I'. .Lynch (Paraparaumu), 0. W. Duueuin. (Manakau), S. .1. Broadbelt (Levin), Howell (Pokanginu), N. P. Nielsen (Tuikitakuna), J. C!. Bolton (Woodvillc), and Messrs -1. A. McLeavey and J. BulsilHe (members of the provincial executive). The following motion, of which the I'araparaumu branch had given notice. uas moved by Mr O. P. Lynch:— "That the resolution passed on 28th February, engaging Mr Tancred Cooper for a fortnight in March and tor tour weeks in April to collect outstanding subscriptions, and to inaugnr»to the graduated scale, be rescinded." To (In', motion was a foot note as follows: "This branch considers the estimated cost of £7O as grossly extravagant in face of our finances, and the fact that less than £IOO is outstanding, and considers that branch secretaries should and could collect, all subscriptions due to their branches."
