Messrs llarvey and Go., Levin building contractors and sawmillers, arc about to commence the erection of a iliirtcen-roomed dwelling in Ivent .Street to the order of Dr. Gow, who intends commencing practice there at .in early date. The dwelling will be two-storeyed, and the plans show it io .a df' handsome design, the coustruciive material throughout being timber, finished off with the latest style of .Vinston til* roof. The building will land on a half-acre section, and when •ump'etod will form a si riltbig addition :o the residential area of the town. The firm lias made a start with the /ire Station contract in ()uoou Street, ..i!. 1 Iwo dwellings will be commenced a Durham Street, and another iu Makoiuako Bond, within the next few ■cells. Altogether the firm have seven • r eight building contracts on hand at • lie present time, but shortage of material and labour is delaying the expeditious handling of Hie jobs.
