riie sub-divisional sale of the cclc brated Kopane estate drew a large

ga* ln-nag 0/ representative farmers to Feildiiig yesterday. Expectations of record prices were fully justified. The sections reached phenomenal swan, arid the average price paid per acre, £ll4 10. S, was a New eZalaud record for any sale of such an area. The Kopane estate is situated oo the Qrourt river, and consists of some ot New- Zealand'a finest pastoral country. This area had been subdivided into 26 sections of from 30 to 48 acrcj,

and by order of the owner, Mr Lachlan T. McLean, these, were disposed of yesterday through the agency of Mc-.rs Murray, Roberts and Co. The drill hall at Feilding was packed to its doors, and the road outside war crammed with the cars of the visitors. Mr K. Gorton conducted the sale and drew spirited bidding. Top price was £177 for st lot of 30 acres, bought by Mr E. E. Short, after an exciting contest. The next was £134 for 32 acres,

which went to Mr Norman Short, while one 40 acre lot and one 30 acre lot

went to Mr J. E. Harper and Mr H. Brooker, respectively, at £l3l an acre. Whet; the Kopane section* had been sold, two larger areuH at Cheltenham were auctioned on behalf of the same vendor.
