RIFLE SHOOTING.
FRESH FOOD AND ICE CO.’S CUP. WIN FOE HAUTERE. The Fresh Food and lee Co.’s Cap, which was for some considerable time held by the Hautere Rifle Club, and has recently been in possession of the Levin Club, has again gone to Hautere, members.of that club having wrested it from the holders on Saturday last. The match was fired on the Levin range on » Saturday. The weathsr conditions j were not first-class, as a south-easterly j ■wind made things rather trying, and the light was not good. Under the circumstances the shooting was good, and there was little “tail” in the scoring. As will be seen by the scores, the visitors secured u win t>y tiic nnrrow nmr* gin of seven points. Rifleman P. Guy was top scorer for the visitors with 90, while Rifleman G. Glacken and C. Ingram topped the scores for the day with 91 each. The visitors were hospitably entertained by the Levin riflemen, and had a most enjoyable day. Following are the scores for tho match: — Haatere Rifle Clab.
