A RECORD PRICE.

£IO.OOO FOR A PUR COAT. Paris has not the pre-eminence in the costliness of fur coats. A vb«t to a Hanover Square establishment rn London lias brought to light u mugnilicent coat priced at £IO,OOO. At this shop a beautifully worked cable coat priced at £SOOO was shown. It was a long-waisted wrap coat on kimono lines, or, rather, a short coatee to which a skirt had been attached, and with a lining of gorgeous brocade in brow n and gold. The fur was worked in strands, these running vertically in the front and from side to side in the back of the skirt. There was at the back a waistdeep yoke, ending in a fringe of paws and tails, and a great shatvl-eollar, which could be rolled softly up about the wearer’s face.

London’s £IO,OOO coat was 0 £ blaek Russian sable, each strand ending in tails and paws, which formed an uneven border to the hem and the shawl collar, the latter so deep as to reach to the wearer’s waist.

Only when the collar was pulled up and folded about the face did the black velvet upper part of the coat show. The fur and its silken lining were so supple that the mannequin might almost have pas.ed it through the jade bracelet dangling on her slender wrist.
