ADDINGTON MARKET. Christchurch, February 18. At Addington market there was a big yarding to-day of all classes of stock, particularly fat sheep, fat lambs, and store sheep. The sale opened with a firm demand, but the demand slacked for all classes of stock except fat lambs.
Store Sheep.—A big yarding. The market opened- Spiritedly, but cased before the close, particularly for lambs. Forward lambs 22s to 25s 6d, ordinary 17s to 21s Gd. cull lambs Ss -Id to 12s 4ii, ewe lambs; 21s -Id to 22s Id. good 6tooth owes .".2s, good 4-tooth ewes 32s
Gd, 2.4, 0. and S-tooth ewes 23s to 26s lid. sound and failing-mouth ewes 18s (id to (id, aged and forward ewes JSs 9d to 22s 3d, cull ewes 12s 9d to lis lid. Store Cattle.—A large yarding, bull predominating. Except for the latter, values were maintained. Extra heavy bulls £S lo £2(l. 2-year steers £7 10s, drv cows £5 5s to £9 10s.
Baity Cows.—A small yarding and a brisk demand. Aged cows £S 10s to £ll, good 2 and 3-year-old heifers £l4 10s to £l6, good dairy tows £l3 10s to £ls lus.
Waters. —An average yarding, with :i good demand. Runners to £8 2s Gd, medium runners £5 7s Gd to £G 15s, good vealers £3 10s to £4 15s, small and inferior Ss to 30s.
Fat Pig*.— A medium entry. The demand eased during the sale. Extra heavy baconers £9 to £9 16s, heavy baconcrs £7 to £s. ordinary £6 to £7 { average price per lb llfd); heavy porkers £5 5s to £5 15s. ordinary £4 10s to £5 (avertigo price per lb Is Id); chopper.- £6 to £lO. store Pigs.—A small entry, much below requirements of buyers. The demand was keen, and high prices ruled. A .-mall number of weaners offered, and sold exceptionally well.
