WEDDING BELLS.

A wedding that caused considerable interest was solemnised in St. John 7 ;. Church, Wellington, on Wednesday, ivhen Mr Roland McDougall, eldest son i of Mr and Mrs McDougall, of Otaki, i was united to Miss Carrie Hore, second I daughter of Mr and Mrs SHas Hore, of ! Wellington. In consequence of the ! popularity of all parties there was a large gathering to witness the ceremony, which .was performed by the ilev. Burridge. The best, man was Mr Prank McDougall, brother of tha bridegroom, while Air Dan. Hurley, also of otaki. was (■£ note that the.bridegroom, best man, grooinsmuu, and the officiating minister were all returned soldiers Miss Annie Woodcock, a friend of the bride, and Miss Gladys McDougall, sister of the bridegroom., were bridesmaids. The bride was beautifully attired in white orope-de-cheno and georgette, and also wore tho usual Toil and orange bios- ! soins. Her bouquet was rery choice, ; being composed of Iceland poppies, ' pale pink carnations and maidenhair | tern, tied with white streamers. Miss ! Woodcock was effectively dressed in j white erepe-de-chene, embroidered in chenille, and a black velvet hat, while Miss McDougall wore a lovely dress of champagne crcpe-de-ehene with touches of lavender, and black picture hat with streamers of lavender. The bouquets wero lavender and pink sweet peas and loses, and maidenhair fern, tied with streamers of pink. The bride's mother was dressed in a black silk costume, heliotrope, toque relieved with pansies, while Mrs McDougall was attired in black silk with touches of cream, and black velvet hat. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a lovely gold chain and pendent, inset with aquamarines and pearls, while Miss Woodcock received a handsome silver jewel casket, and Miss McDougall a lovely amethyst brooch. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a fine silver cigarette case.

After the ceremony a reception was held at Dustin's, when a large number of relatives and friends were present. Several toasts were honoured, and many congratulatory references made to the bride aud bridegroom. The young couple, who carry with them the best wishes of a large circle of friends, were the recipients of many useful, valuable and ornamental presents, and also received large numbers of congratulatory telegrams.
