THE AUTUMN SHOW. A meeting of the committee of the Horowhenua Horticultural and Industrial Society was held at the Otaki Reading-room on Wsdnesday night last. Present: Mr Frank Penn (president), Mesdamss Ivilmister and Synnott, Miss Penn. Rev. G. F. Petrie, M.A., Meesrs Wilson, H. Witebetl, H. Small. A. W. Broadway, Wesley Knight, and S. Norgrove.
The secretary reported having paid all accounts in connection with the last show. There was a very small credit balance in hand.
The committee appointed judges for the forthcoming Autumn Show, to he held on March 17th, subject to their consent being obtained.
Mrs L. Kilmister was appointed in charge of the sweets stall for the show, and Mrs Hodgson asked to supervise the supper rooms.
A suggestion was made by Mr Witehell that exhibitors jn the cookery section sfiipuld nqt be allowed to make two entries In one class with same mixture. This led to a discussion on exhibitors taking more than one prize in any class at the show. No action was taken, but it was suggested the matter might be reviewed when drafting next VMr-L hulli.)— *X« ‘
Mr H. Small suggested method qf allotting points tor prizes, first to count three points;'second's two. and hie. one, was not a satisfactory one. This matter alsq was held over until next schedule was arranged.
It was resolved to hold the Autumn Show in Brights ’ Theatre. Several minor matters were discussed and the meeting then adjourned until Monday, March l^t.
