SATISFACTORY FINANCIAL POSITION. A meeting of the committee of the Horowhenua A. and P. Society was held at Leviu on Saturday last, when the secretary (Mr K. D. The expenditure includes sums already paid, £2SI 3s Id; prize money. £4IS 9s; and accounts pending. £153 5s lid, a total of £SS2 ISs 3d, leaving a credit balance of £l2O Os «Jd. The President (Mr S. A. Broadbelt) expressed the opinion that the experiment of holding a two-days' show had proved most satisfactory, and others present heartily' agreed. Mr 'fully expressed a wish that the membership should be increased to-100 next year, aud others stated they believed this could be done. Mr Brown referred to the need of better care of stock, and suggested that the Association should secure a liveacre section and grpw lucerne for feed for show stock. On his suggestion it was decided to set up a committee to report on this matter at *ext meeting. The matter of securing more assistance for the secretary was also discussed, Several letter? were read from the judges, cfininliinputing the Association on the last 'show, and wishing it success in the future. Mr J. Power. Otaki. wrote asking for a refund of entrance fees in two npny Tfices at the recent show, as his pony hjid. been debarred from starting owing to being ahove the height. Mr (t. Tullv. in moving that the letT&r lie on the table, said that Mr Power should have known his pony's height before bringing it to the show, as he could have measured it hiros-if motion was carried.
