MANAKAU V. TRAINING FARM,

Training Farm sent an eleven to Manakau on AVednesday, and suffered defeat, at the hands of the local team by v 33 runs on the aggregates. The new pitch was used, and played capitally. A feature of tnc play was the poor scoring of the batsmen, the totals put up being very low. Batting first, the Manakau eleven were Till dismissed for till, Kggleton and Marriucr bowling well. The Farm responded with lti, the bowling of Kofoed and Davis being deadly. The former secured seven wickets for nine runs and Davis three for live. Manakau did better in their second innings—after tea and knocked up 51 J. Bryant topping the score with 18. Wanting 57 to win, the Farm made only 24, and thus Manakau won the match"by 35 runs. Kofoed secured four wickets for eight runs in the second innings, Davis three for eight, D. Kobinson two for none, and Robert none for seven. . The visitors were entertained at afternoon tea at the garden party, held near by, and altogether a very pleasant afternoon was spent.
