BOWLING

Playing on tlie local bowling green on Wednesday for the pairs trophy, Knight and Noble beat Jackman and Windley, 22—17. The winners led throughout, while their opponents were fortunate in securing a six and a threo in succession. Only for this the defeat would have been a very decisive one. St. George and Satherley had easy wins over Smith and Bills, 33 —11. The latter pair were never in the running, and St. George and Satherley piled twos, threes, and even fours in great style. On the last head they scored live. The losers scored on eight heads only, all of which were singles with one exception, they opening their score with a four.
