A march for the pairs trophyj was played on this Otaki bowling green n:> Wednesday, when a closely-tonics;ed anil exciting game saw A. Smith and Satherley defeat Williams amt Bills, £l—lo. The former pair led for some time, but on the j-tth head the latter pair were one to the goon, 1-I— l3. On the next two heads, however, Smith and Satherley scored five. IS —1-1. William* and Bills then carried their score to .17—one behind. On the 19th head, however, their opponents scored three, while on the 110th head the game stood -I—lß against them. They only managed to score one on the last head, leaving Batherley and .Smith victorious I by the narrow margin of two points. i ! imioMjgp
