THE "RAG " OR THE "BUSTER."
DEDICATED TO ANYOOUNTBY NEWSPAPER,
(By a Grey town Scribe.)
There's a quaint little paper down-the main street,That's published without any fluster; It goes by the name of —you know what I mean, We call it the "Kag"—or tie "Buster."'
And I said, as it came again and again (And so said my dear wife and daughter), "There's nothing of any great interest here, • I'll stop my subscription next quarter." ,■'•'"■ So I stopped our subscription—laughed with delight (And so laughed my dear wife and daughter). "I'll send straight away for the , and the , And stop the old 'Bag? from next quarter.'' I now read the city's big dailies each day (And so read my dear wife and daughter), ' But find not a line about local events, I'm missing the "Buster" this quarter. '
And my boy at the front sent a special to me From the place where men kill and slaughter, 'You may leave out the smokes, the jam or the 'dull',' But send me the Kag dad, each quarter.''
We went for a holiday down to the beach, And paddled and bathed in the water, But one thing we missed, so I said to the wife, We must have the Eag, dear, next quarter. ... . t a^
And then I fell sick, went to bed for a spell, They gave me to drink stout and porter, But the .lays, how they dragged—so I said to mysatfi««»»«— w» m»"^^ fj^l t ,^*S^ , lke"ltag'' sent next quarter!. , . j, ~ -_ -s=?v So I made Up ii V ~x;„,i nmrtß it up mighty quick (And so did my dear wife and daughter) To cancel our subs to the ; aud the And have the old "Kag" sent next quarter. Then I went to the office down the main street (And so went my dear wife and daughter), And said, "Mr Editor, send.us the 'Hag,' Without it we've had a bad quarter." Aud now I'm quite happy, just leave me alone, I smile as Igo forth to muster; «-.-j What matters to me, if it rtiiu*, bail* ; or snows, Tor at homo there's the "Bug"" 01 ' the "Buster." /
