PARAPARAUMU.
HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
A meeting of the present members of the Paraparauinu and District Horticultural and Industrial Society was held on Friday last, Mr W. Cromb in the chair. The finances were adjusted, and a statement disclosed a balance of about £ls on hand.
Afterwards the meeting was open to ladies and gentlemen desirous of joining, and the attendance wa's of such a nature that the prospects of the society in the future are good.
The committee and officials elected were:—President, Mrs Hadlield; vicepresidents, Mcsdames Tilley, Mackay, Smith, Fraser, Messrs W. Howell, sen., J. S. Smith, F. Penn, K. G. Maclean; committee Paraparauinu, Mesdanies R. G. Maclean, Hawkcs, Beckett, Rev. G. V. Keudrick, Messrs W. Cromb, B. Mantle, M. Maclean, C. B. Reeve, Eobt. Hosio, Ernest Clarke, P. Beckett, Hawkes, P. F. Howell, T. Hurdharn; Waikanae, Messrs Tom W. Brown, Tatton Fraser, Burgess; Kikiorangi, Mrs Alfred Monk and Mr S. Cornor; auditor, Mr A. T. White; treasurer, Mr E. Clarke; secretary, John G. Maclean.
The meeting fixed Wednesday, 24th March, as the date for the next show, which promises to be a great success.
