Mr Howard Hunter, of the firm of Messrs Macky, Logan, Ltd., of Auckland, has returned to Auckland, after spending an enjoyable holiday at Manakau.
In our last report of the Otaki Town Board wo omitted to mention that among those present was Mr B. M. D’Ath. As a matter of fact Mr D’Ath is a regular attendant at Board meetings.
Mr Weston Barber, of Tc Horo, and Miss Nancy Fearless, daughter of Dr. and Mrs Fearless, of Nelson, were married at the Otaki Anglican Church this afternoon. Details of the wedding will appear in our nest issue.
The death lias taken place at Greymouth of Lady Guinness, w'idow of the late Hon. Sir Arthur Guinness, who, at the time of his death was Speaker of the House of Representatives. Lady Guinness was 73 years of age.
Among the matriculation examination results we are glad to notice that G. W. Smith, son of Mr and Mrs W. B. Smith, of Otaki, was successful in passing matriculation, solicitors’ general knowledge, and medical preliminary. Wc congratulate him on having done so well.
; The death occurred suddenly at 'Gisborne of Thomas Alston Coleman, sen., a well-known public accountant. Ho was standing in the doorway of Messrs Crisp and Coleman’s establishment, when he suddenly fell. He was picked up dead. Deceased, who was go years of age, held the position of Bast Coast Trust Commissioner.
Some changes have been made among the Roman Catholic clergy of Wellington. Rev. Father Hurley, of St. Joseph’s Parish, is leaving Wellington for Timaru, and is being succeeded by the Rev. Father Bowe, of DannCviriTc.' Archdeacon Devoy, of Newtown, will be succeeded by the Rev. Dean McKenna, of Pahiatua.
