Advices front Victoria, 8.C., state that the whaling season oft the Canadian coast is proving extremely good, over 7tifJ whales having been taken this season. Great steam whalers are used in. the industry nowadays, and it is organised on as scientific a basis as, any other modern industry. Canada is a big exporter of the by-products from the whale, the United States being the principal customer. ' f
