i ♦ j VALEDICTORY. 1 There was a large and representative ■gathering at the Paraparanmu Methodist Church -on Thursday evening last, for the purpose of bidding good-bye to ■Mr and Mrs Killiek and family, who are leaving bv the Ruahinc on the 2fitli inst. A capital programme of musical items, songs, quartettes, recitations, etc., was gone through nnd much en,joyed. During the evening Mr E. Clarke, on behalf of the Paraparanmu Methodists, t expressed the keen regret that was felt j at the’ loss of such sterling workers as I Mr and Mrs Killiek, who, during their ten years’ stay at Paraparanmu, had been always to the fore in any good work, and had been valued supporters of the church. Mr Clarke wished Mr and Mrs Killiek and family bon voy-
age, a safe return to New Zealand, and a life of happiness and prosperity.
The Rev. Daniel, on behalf of the friends, then presented Air and Mrs Killiek with a valuable travelling rug, and also handed a nice Bible to little Miss Killiek and a book to Master Killiek. Mr Killiek suitably replied. Supper was served at the close of Iho evening, the gathering fifing a most successful one.
