BOWLING.
A match for.the “blue ribbon” will be played on the local bowling green to-morrow, when two games oi 16 heads each will be played between representatives of Olaki and Otaki Railway. Both sides arc sanguine of victory, and therefore keen games are expected. Play to start at 1.30 sharp. Following are the Railway rinks: Olliver, Webster. Bennett, Knight. Gooding, Windley. Watts, Ayre, Williams, Kilmister, Canning. Noble. A “colt” bowler writes as follows to the “Manawatu Times”:—“After two seasons* play, and after closely questioning the members of other clubs at the tournament, I have come to the conclusion that the worst enemy of the bowling club is the "selfish player who won’t play with any but those who are supposed to be the best players. In every club (here are about four of these sitters, who care for nobody’s pleasure but their own. These arc the men who keep out the new members; but. thank God, there , are only a few in each club.” g
