FAREWELL TO FATHER MAILLARD.

6u Thursday evening last, at the new Convent School, Levin, there was a gathering of some 250 Catholic residents of tho district to bid good-bye to the Kcv. Father Maillard, on the eve of his leaving on a visit to France.

Miss A. O'Donohue read an address to the guest of the evening, expressing appreciation of his splendid services during his five years' stay in the district, and wishing him a pleasant journey and safe return. The Rev. Father Maillard suitably replied, and heartily thanked all for their kindness to him.

During the evening Flight-Licutcn-ant C. Wildsmith, M.C., gave an interesting address on the work of the Royal Flying Corps in the late war, while a capital, musical programme was also given.

Among those present were the Rev. Fathers Forrestal, Clansman, Guinan Vibaud.
