PATRIOTIC WOOL LEVY.
A FARMERS’ OBJECTION.
A prominent district farmer has forwarded the following letter to the oitieer in charge ox the Imperial wool x>urchase:
“Sir, —Re consignment to benefit of Navy of growers’ profits on sale of surplus wool by the Imperial Government, I claim that consent to this assignment was obtained on niisroxnescntation. and has become an unfair levy uxion some wool-growers who gave their consent. Attempts to withdraw or annul consent heretofore ai>x>eur to have been frustrated, likewise attempts to obtain information in regard io same. I nowgive you formal notice that 1 rescind, annul, and withdraw my consent to the abovo-mentioned or other deduction of or from profits accruing or belonging to mo or under my control, in respect of purchase, commandeer, sale or disx>osition of my wool, branded ———, this to apply to 191 S-19 and 1919-20 clips. Please note that I am not seeking refund in respect lo clixts previous to that of 1918-19. ” It will be interesting to see wliat steps will lie taken in regard to the attitude taken up by the farmer in question, and the result will bo awaited with interest.
