OBITUARY.
Residents of this district will regrot to learn of the death of Mr John Horton (“Jafek”) Bills, which occurred at the Palmerston North Hospital at-2.30 yesterday morning. Deceased, who was one of the old school—jovial and kindhearted —was born at Tiuakori Road, Wellington, 52 Ho lived in Wellington for some time, and afterwards travelled about a good deal, until over twenty years ago he came to Otaki, where he remained till a year or two ago. Leaving this district he went to Wanganui, where he had the misfortune to lose his wife. He then took up residence in Palmerston. His health was not of the best, and he was admitted to the hospital. Later he was
discharged, but recently re-admitted, and despite all care and attention passed away as stated, death being due to an internal, complaint. ‘..‘Jack/’ as he was popularly called, had many friends, and their sympathy will be extended to his relatives. Deceased was the second son of the late Mr J. R. Bills, a very well-known and highlyrespected resident of Otaki, and leaves four brothers —Fred, James, Allan and
; "Ernie and two sisters Mesdames ' 'l’aylor and T. Byles (both of Wellington) to mourn their loss. He also leaves four young orphan children. The funeral took place at Otaki to-day, when a number of relatives and friends followed the" body to its last restingplace.
