Mr B. Hatch, at one time connected with Mr Higgott's-stables at Otaki, intends to open training quarters at Palmerston at an early date.
Machrec, recently sold by Mr W. H. Bowden, may make her first appearance in her new owner’s colours in the Midhirst Handicap at Stratford on New Year’s Day. The distance, eight furlongs and a half, would suit the Bezonian mare better than a sprint journey.
