Mr and Mrs Pollock, tho former lato stationmaster at AVellington, are at .present on a visit.to Otaki.

Mr Kirk, of New South Wales, is on a visit to this district, staying with bis brother, Mr G. AY. Kirk, of To Horo.

Tho AVellington Hospital Board yesterday passed a motion of condolence with the relatives of tho late Dr. Huthwaite, of Otati, for many years in charge of the Hospital and Sanatorium at Otaki.

Miss Louise Mack, tho celebrated war correspondent and lecturer, is a visitor to Otaki, staying at tho sea-' side resort. She will probably remain here for about three weeks.

Mr and Mrs James Wong, the former a partner in the well-known firm of Messrs Truelight and Co., have taken up residence in Otaki, Mrs AYong only arrived from China a few days ago.

Mr F. Coley, of Waihoanga, entered the Otaki Hospital this afternoon, to bo under observation for a few days, with a view to an operation. His many friends will wish him a speedy recovery. Major Addington returned to Otaki on Tuesday last, after an extended holiday iu the South Island. During hb sojourn down South, Major Addingurn visited Akaroa, Christchurch and other parts of Canterbury. Ho also made a. trip to ike Southern Alps, visiting the Franz Joseph Glacier uud other parts of that fascinating region.
