Mr Kopa Kawea leit Otaki this morning on a business visit to Rotorua. Among the visitors io Otaki at the present time are Mr and Mrs “Tai” Brown, the former a brother to Mr Brio a Brown. The funeral of the late Mr Tauhia, Tewiata took place yesterday, when the remains were buried in the Native Mission cemetery. There was a large following, while the ceremony was an impressive one. At the Manakau school concert on Friday night, and at the Manakau Methodist Church last night, resolutions were passed expressing deep regret at the death of Dr. Huthwaite, and the great loss the district had sustained thereby. At the commencement of his public address at Otaki on Friday night, Mr W. 11. Field referred to the great loss the town and district had sustained through the death of Dr. Huthwaite—a most valuable and popular resident. Ilis death, lie said, would be regretted bv every resident of the district.
