Every person (not being a military defaulter or disqualified from voting bv section 38 of the Legislature Act, iUUS) who has served beyond the seas as a member of an Expeditionary Force is entitled to vote at the General Election and the Licensing Poll, whether ho is registered as sin elector or not. Maori members of an Expeditionary Force are entitled to vote at the General Election for the election of Maori members only s but are entitled to vote at the Licensing Poll. 2. Members who are enrolled as electors arc subject in all respects' to the provisions applicable to ordinary electors, except that they may .vote beyond the boundaries of the district for which they are registered without being required to produce an absent .voter's permit on production of the documentary evidence referred to in tho paragraph following. 3. Members who are not enrolled as electors, or who, being so enrolled, desire to vote outside their districts without an absent voter's permit, must produce at the polling-place doeuuient.urv evidence that they have served beyond the seas as members of an Expedi--tiouary Force. Any d£ tho following classes of documents will be accepted as sufficient: — • • s. ) \ (a) A certificate of discharge from the Expeditionary Force after ff\ service beyond the seas; or (b) A leave certificate, hospital ccrj ' tifieate, or other status certifiI ~1 cate issued by a competent military authority. 4. Any member who is not enrolled as an elector may vote as an elector of — * . (a) The electoral district (as existing at tho date of the election) within which he was resident at the date of his first becoming a member of an Expeditionary Force; or (b) Any electoral district within which he has'residcd for not loss than one month since his last return to New Zealand from service beyond the seas.
