Among the present visitors at the Otaki Seaside Besort arc Mrs Chas, Lunkshear and family, of Wellington. Dr. Huthwaite, who is in a very indifferent state of health, yesterday left for Wellington to be treated by specialists. j Miss Louise Mack, war lecturer, hopes to return to Otaki about Christmas time with the intention of spending a fortnight. She will then study the Native language ami customs. The death took place last week of Mrs Davies, of Napier, aged 99 years. Deceased was the eldest daughter of tho late Archdeacon Henry Williams, and sister to the late Archdeacon Sarnnel Williams.
Mr G. H. Smith, M.P. for Pahintua, and hia, daughter, Miss Smith, have been staying for several days at the Otaki Seaside Eesort, and have been well plcaaell with the attractions of Otaki, the seaside and the surroundings. Word has been received that Pilot Clarence pole, son of Mr and Mrs J. S. Pole, of Otaki, left England on the 22nd of last month for home. Pilot Pole, who has had many hair-breadth escapes, and at the same time had met with many accidents, left with the Second Brigade, Australian Light Horse, over five years ago for the front. Two years later ho joined as an. air mechanic, and since then had met with much success. Pilot Pole was under 21 years of age when he enlisted.
