The death occurred at Waikanao last week of Mr Richard IC. Reed, late of Palmerston North, aged 7S years.
Mr Tom Purata and D. IC. Buchanan (\riiikannc) have 'been appointed deputy-masters to the Manawatu Hunt Club.
Mr Arthur Pringle, who is shortly tc become a Benedict, was entertained by friends at Levin last evening, and made the recipient of a presentation.
Mr Hector Webby, of the Levin Post Oflice staff, returned to his duties today, after a month’s holiday, part of which was spent in Wanganui.
A private message has been received stating that the Rev. and Mrs Groves have sailed for New Zealand, and should arrive at Levin about the end of the year.
The death has occurred at Mastcrton of "Miss J. Robieson, a leading golf player, and sister to Miss Robieson, late of Otaki. Deceased, who was the daughter of Mr J. Robieson, of Mastertou, was the winner of several golf championships. The Hon. AVI 11. Triggs lims rciired from the position of editor of the Christchurch "Press,” after a journalistic career of over -17 years. Mr Triggs is one of the best-known and ablest journalists in Now Zealand, having been associated with the “Evening Post,” “ Timuiu Herald,-” and "Press” for a great many years.
