Dominion officers are organising a I permanent memorial in the Royal Automobile Club in recognition of the club’s hospitality to 25,000 Dominion soldiers. The “Daily Express” states that the British Government's desire to secure the trial of the Kaiser has been finally endorsed by the Allies. Sir Eric Gcddcs estimates that £33,000,000 will be spent on roads in 1919, ratepayers providing £2.3,000,000. A committee is enquiring into the question of taxing the users of roads. Colonel Amery, addressing the Colonial Missionary meeting, said that it might, be argued that, having established the League of Nations, concentrated efforts upon Imperial unity had become unnecessary and might even be 1 harmful. He entirely disagreed with lhat opinion. The more we develop the principles of unity and co-cperation within the Empire the more we will be able to help the newer League to deal effectively with our problems. Lord Milner has appointed a committee, with Sir Henry Norman, M.P., as chairman, to draw up a complete scheme of Imperial wireless communication, including a high-power station suitable to the Empire’s commercial and strategic needs.
