PARAPARAUMU
SUCCESSFUL CONCERT. Probably the most successful concert yet held in the Paraparauimi district took place in the Coronation Hall on Saturday night, when members of the Orphans’ Club (Wellington) organised an entertainment to raise funds for tin; local Tennis Club. The attendance was quite satisfactory, thoroughly appreciative, and encored each and every item. Mr W. W. Crawford, • society entertainer, was a host in himself, and as a 'comedian he earned the hearty plaudits of all. His items were alone worth the price of admission. Among other pet- . formers were such well-known enter- • miners as .Messrs H. F. Wood (tenor), • Fraser Thompson (humourist), Rupert Monies (basso), Will Goudie (baritone) ’ and George Halloway (pianist). AH • contributed most pleasing items, while during intervals between the dance that followed, and which proved enjoy- : able. Messrs Wood and C,oudie sang a • duel, while Mr Crawford gave a recital and a clog dance. Supper was also provided for the performers, a gracious , act that was fully appreciated. Ureal credit is due to all the performers, who so willingly placed their services at the - disposal of the. Paraparaumu folk, ami to tlie management who supervised all arrangements.
