A WARNING.
MILD INFLUENZA ABROAD. A mild typo of influenza, which in some cases is .accompanied by gastric trouble, is attacking many people in Wellington just now. A medical practitioner informed a reporter that ho had encountered a good many cases of this nature. Tho .victims of the complaint suffered from bronchial catarrh and coughing, and the temperature, in some instances, reached ns high ns 102 and 103 degrees. This form of the disease was more or less always present in a community, but lie had not known it to be so prevalent as now. There was nothing very dangerous about the sickness if care was exercised, and the patients remained in lied until recovery was effected, but by neglecting ordinary precautions there was a great risk that pneumonia symptoms would supervene. Dr. Watt, District Health Officer, said there was'no need for the public to become .alarmed. Evidence pointed to the position being veil in hand, and it did not look as if there would bo a recrudescence of the epidemic this year, but ho advised that, people should I not relax precautions.
