PAEKAKARIKI NOTES.

(From an Occasional Correspondent.) - A most-enjoyable evening was spent here on Monday last, when the Paekakariki branch of the New Zealand Labour Party held a concert and dance, the object being to raise a campaign fund. The following gave items, all of which were much appreciated:— Songs by Mesd-nnes Morgan arid Sheridan, Misses D. Pliilpotts and Lynch. Messrs E. Smith, IV. Griffiths, Vosper and Borand. Miss and Mr D. Lynch sang a duet, Miss Adams gave a song and dance, and'Misses Adams and McGuire a dance. At the conclusion, of the concert Mr Ryan, on behalf of the committee, thanked all those who gave items. The committee arc well pleased with their efforts, and arc exceedingly grateful to alt those who helped, more especially to those who came from a distance. Dancing was kept up until a late hour*

Each soldier is to be presented with a medal on behalf of the residents. Mr T.
