ELECTION CAMPAIGN.
ROBERTSON—EX-M.P. TOR OTAKI. Mr J. Robertson (ex-M.P. for Otaki), wlio is contesting the Riccarton seat in the .Labour Party’s interests, opened his campaign on Tuesday night. He said-he know Mr Witty, the sitting member, and had a high regard for him personally, but they must remember that Mr Witty, in supporting the Liberals, was bound iu many ways when tlic party whip was cracked. A vote of thanks and confidence in Mr Robertson was moved, also an amendment that the meeting thanks Mr Robertson for his address, but has every confidence, in its present member. The chairman declared the motion carried by an overwhelming majority.
