RAILWAY TROUBLES.

HUMOROUSLY TOLD. Railway travellers have their troubles in America as well as in New Zealand, judging from the following story:—A man wishing to travel joined the queue at the ticket office in Philadelphia station, and after twenty minutes moving tip got his turn, planked down 50 cents (2s Id) and demanded a ticket for San Francisco. “You can’t go 4000 miles for 50 cents,’’ said the dispenser of tickets. “Can’t I?” said the man, and began explaining at length how it was that he hadn’t any more—-while 16 agitated travellers waited in the queue behind hint. “Well, if I can’t go to San Francisco,’’ lie said finally, “where can I go for 50 cents?” And each of those 16 travellers waiting in the queue behind him, told him where ho could go.
