Many local bowlers will regret to learn that Mr Charles Hill, sen., of “Te Hiwi, ” Island Bay, Wellington, is in a very low state of health, lie has been confined to his bed now for some weeks, and for that reason could not attend the opening of the Te Hiwi Bawling Club (whose green is located on part of his ground) on Saturday afternoon,,when many regrets were expressed owing to tho veteran bowler’s illness. The Newtown, Thorndou, Victoria, and'To Iliwi Clubs opened their greens for the season on Saturday.
