Tho death lias occurred of Mr W. HcKeegau, one of tho best known (figures in the engineering profession in Wellington. Mr McKeegau was born in Waterford, Ireland, and came to New Zealand in 1573. An interesting episode in his engineering career was the salvage work he did on the Otaki beach iu connection with the stranding of the Hyderabad, the remains of which vessel are still to bo seen where she piled up many years ago.
