FLOODING NEW ZEALAND MARKET TO BE PREVENTED. “I think it is quite likely that German goods arc being sold in Britain. The sale of German goods in Britain is not prohibited by the Peace Treaty. The Government will take the necessary steps to prevent New Zealand markets being flooded < with German goods. The method of giving effeet £p the honourable gentleman’s suggestion is under consideration.” Such was the printed reply given by the Prime Minister to the following question by Mr R. S. Wright Suburbs): — “ (1) Whether he is aware that German goods are being sold in Great Britain? (2) Is this in harmony with the Peace Treaty ? (3) If so, will- it be possible for German goods to flood the New Zealand markets? (4) Is it the intention of the Government to increaso the tariff on all articles made in Germany? ”
