BOWLING.
Owing to inclement weather the official opening o’( the Otaki Bowling Club’s season,; arranged for Wednesday, was postponed for a week. Several players, despite the unfavourable weather, attended, and indulged in games, Otaki rinks being pitted against the representatives of the i oxton and Shannon Clubs. Despite the heavy nature of the ground play was of a high order, but*was ultimately spoiled by rain.- During the afternoon Mesdames ISToble, Hodge, Bills, and Stevens presided over an afternoon tea that was -<Jfully enjoyed by all.
