VICTORY WAR LOAN.

EXTENSION OF TIME. Yesterday was the original date fixed for tie closing of applications in connection with the Victory War Loan. The Minister for Finance, however, announced in the afternoon that, as suggested in the House of Eepresentatives the other day, it had been decided to make an extension of fourteen days. No details arc available yet as to the response made to the loan. Sir James Allen stated that one of the purposes of this loan is for the payment of the war gratuities agreed to by the House. The loan, therefore, gives men, women and children the opportunity of partieipating directly in the practical expression of sympathy with the soldiers.

Applications have been extended to 9th October. All who have not subscribed should do so at once.
