_ _« Major C. B. Easther, an ex-resident of Levin, and a Main Body man. is expected in Levin this week, having just returned from the front. Mr Jack Lee, for years a well-known resident of this district, who some little time ago returned from active service, was recently married to Miss Squire*, of Bunnythorpe. Mr and Mrs Lee are taking up residence in the Rodney County, Auckland, where Mr Lee has secured a soldier's, farm. Among the soldiers who returned to this district duriDg the week was Sergeant Clem Johnson, son of Mrs T. Johns-en, of Otaki. Sergeant Johnson is, wc are glad to say, fit and well, and has made an excellent recovery from his wound. This soldier must be cobsidered fortunate, as he went through roach desperate fighting. Of tho whole of his company, 280 strong, only 3« men came through the ordeal.
